Governor’s Mansion tours

The Executive Mansion located on the Capitol groundsThe Mansion, which is both a Virginia and National Historic Landmark, was restored and furnished with antiques in the early 20th century. The original rooms across the front of the mansion contain most of their original woodwork, plaster cornices, and ornamental ceilings. During the Civil War, the Mansion served as the center of state leadership, when Richmond was the Capitol of the Confederate States of America.

Tours are available Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Tours last approximately 30 minutes, same-day, walk-up tours are available without reservations. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more, call the Executive Mansion at 804-371-2642 during business hours, 8:30am to 5:00pm. to plan your visit.

The Virginia Shop (Gift Shop)

VA Travel Counselors (Bell Tower)

belltowerThe 9th street Bell Tower is home to the Virginia Travel Counselors. In addition to a small gift shop, you can get travel assistance and information for the Commonwealth of Virginia, free Virginia travel brochures, maps and other literature. The Bell Tower Gift Shop offers a variety of Virginia and Richmond themed merchandise. The hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
