Meriwether’s Café is located in the Capitol Extension and welcomes visitors to enhance their visit to Mr. Jefferson’s Capitol with a tasty treat. Meriwether’s Café offers a distinctive menu of fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads, sides, sweets, and specialty coffees. Guests can enjoy a meal in the Café, which does have limited seating, or use Meriwether’s take-out service to enjoy on the lawn of the Capitol.
The Café is open to the public, Monday through Friday.
Hours during the year: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Hours during the Legislative Assembly Session: 8 a.m. – end of session day
Meriwether’s Market at the SunTrust Building
The cafeteria in the General Assembly Building (GAB) closed on June 30, 2017 due to the legislature’s move from the GAB to the Pocahontas Building. The cafeteria is now in a new location in the SunTrust Building at 919 East Main Street, 3rd floor. Meriwether’s Market offers fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, salads and more at specialty stations.
